Via Con Me
Composed for the Day Eleven Prompt for the 'Halls of Pandemonium' challenge hosted by Bradley Ramsey
Let's go fly, far and wide. We've done the shallow and tried the deep. We speak now in tongues that have found peace. The contract and the conventional are done. Neither fulfilling, equal, or fun. Come, come away with me Let's find each other again The world won't disappear Or stop expecting any less. We dive into the wonderful together. Like, once we had decided to walk past ourselves and create a sanctuary of forever. Come, come away with me, the follies we breed haven't found an escape as sweet, as the kiss That brings us peace. We keep circling the prosaic manner of our loving. The stripping of us That wasn't nearly ready. Come with me to truly Find the reason it feels We're meant to be... tired, struggling, but together complete.
This is an Italian song composed and performed by Paolo Conte. Incidentally, he was an artist and a lawyer too, along with being a singer, pianist, and composer. You can read the lyrics of this song in English here and a blog post about the song with its English lyrics here.
