The Moon

It is weaving a tale,
With a crown on its head,
Bent over a yarn,
Weaving a tale that brings the Earth closer to it
Letting the Moon Beings know the Earth Dwellers, a little better,
And, perhaps, for us to feel closer to their existence.

The pockmarked grey at its centre,
Seeking the similarities between the two,
Beings across the universe
Are closer, for the words, the music and the pull.
Whether it is gravity, empathy or tales of yore.

The pull gets stronger, the more the Moon looks like our own.
It dazzles the path for a lovers’ stroll on a full moon night,
Sprinkles silver light above the water,
Transforms the night with its movements,
Constantly maintaining that connection,
Diminishes itself, recedes to thin crescents, for its rebirth, now and then.

If you look closely at the Full Moon,
Standing amidst the silent darkness,
You will be able to see the bent-over, crown-wearing figure
Wondering when all Earth Dwellers will seek its secrets,
its language and its core.
The Moon is fascinated; it is recording the time spent
It is yearning for the connection to continue
It is weaving a tale.
Nimita- I’m so glad I encountered this. I never saw the crown wearing figure before and I’ve surveyed the moon a thousand times it seems. Proof that reading (and poetic writing on your part) is a worthy pursuit. Thanks!
Thank you for the restack! :)
