Dragon Tears
Composed for the image prompt shared by Ariadne Pautina :D
They took away the treasure I held dear... Tired of standing guard I, but rested for a short while took an awaited break. For fires kept inside Far too long have ways to kindle storms which cannot be confined by walls built to store mere toys of humankind. I deserved the call I took to retire from the thankless watch where no peace awaited or an end one could foresee. Nor was the long wait foretold, my patience put to test, my core, restrained, seemingly with consent the hours were long, lonely and still. I made do with the least I could take... never one for greed skies were all I braced The moon beckoned incessantly... But I needed my rest, dried up tears, waiting to be wept now erupt unforeseen, as if they remembered something buried too deep.
